Ecological studies on Mimosa biuncifera and Mimosa monancistra from the northwest of State of Guanajuato
AbstractSome aspects of the ecology of Mimosa biuncifera Bentham and Mimosa monancistra Bentham at the northwestern region of the state of Guanajuato are presented. Its distribution is related with climate, soil and topography. Information about its phenology and dispersion is given in this paper. Comments about the plant communities where they can be found are given too. The abundance of those species in the secondary vegetation is discussed as an indicator of the disturbance caused principally by the agriculture, the grazing and the felling. It is considered the possibility of the use of those species for the restoration of the soil in some of the semiarid regions of the central part of Mexico.
